Blue spirulina or Phycocyanin is a purified component of edible spirulina - a blue-green algae. It is a deep blue powder and is a natural pigment which is obtained through water extraction and membrane separation technology. It is often used as a natural colorant across many different industries, but not only is it brightly colored, it is also rich in protein, vitamins and minerals that are beneficial to health.
